Honeymoon heaven ...

Honeymoon in the UK, surely not! Whilst Mauritius, St Lucia and Kenya are some of the leading contenders for the most beautiful locations in the World, spare a thought for us here in the UK. OK, it is undeniable we do not have the weather, and if you are a sun tot this may not be for you. If you are looking for an amazing setting for the start of married life the Lake District may be just what you are looking for.

As a non Cumbrian I have to admit should this suggestion had been put to me 5 years ago I would at the very best been skeptical, 5 years and a Cumbrian husband later I must say it would be remiss of me not to share this with you. Only last week I took a walk around Ennerdale Lake, the views are spectacular and on a sunny day you could be forgiven for mistaking some of the fells to be a mirror image of those we see in blockbuster films in New Zealand.

The beauty of the Lakes is that there is so much variety . Individually and as couples, we all have our own picture of the perfect getaway. For those of you who just want to sit back and take it easy in the lap of luxury the Lakes have their fair share of tranquil, indulgent accommodation where your every need is attended to. There are excellent information sources online, http://www.lake-district-guides.co.uk.

A Lakeside cottage is idyllic, for novice walkers like myself I would recommend near by walks of Ennerdale, Crummock water & Buttermere. For the more seasoned walkers Great Gable may be better for you,a bit of extra effort but worth the spectacular views. My advice would be know your limitations and you might want to bear in mind that a bikini two piece and sandals may not be the best choice!

For the history buffs I would recommend that you check out the online info on 'hallmark attractions', these six hot spots might be your idea of heaven.

Or City hoppers, enjoy a good shop the Lakes afford for this. A trip to Keswick may uncover some hidden treasures in one of their vintage shops.

So whether you enjoy fell climbing and gauge walking, or long for a luxury break away in 5 star accommodation, there is something for you.Who says romance can not be found in the UK, you just have to look.

and breath................

Health warning, beware all brides! Sightings of 'bridezilla' have been witnessed all over the UK. You heard me correctly, 'bridezilla'! Wedding fever can send all sense of proportionality and rationale out of the window for the most level headed bride. It can happen to any of us, however, last year when I identified the early symptoms, I nipped this in the bud and took immediate action. If you think you are at risk or know someone who is you may want to refer them to our site;

1. Share your worry and concerns

A problem shared is a problem halved. If you are becoming stressed out and are feeling the pressure, you are not alone. Your bridesmaids are there to help you deal with all aspects of your planning and that includes just being there to listen. Don't let things blow out of proportion.

If you are feeling over whelmed delegate the smaller tasks to those you trust. Be clear and explain exactly what you want them to do so you can prioritise the more important goals.

2. Positive Relaxation

Schedule wedding planning tasks around your 'time out'. I know your wedding will seem like the most important issue in your life, and yes, it will take time to arrange but you can only be dynamic and energetic when you have recharged your batterys. 'Time out' need not involve hours of yoga and meditation, it can be a long soak in the bath or a short stroll. The goal is simply to put things in perspective.

3. De stress with a de-tox your diet

When you are on a tight schedule, eating may not be at the forefront of your mind. Plus it ties in neatly with your best endeavors to shed a few pounds before the big day. Big mistake! A size zero 'bridezilla' is not a pretty sight. Bare in mind these facts

Food does not mean fat, if you are adamant that you want to lose weight the combine a healthy nutritous diet with regular exercise.

Here comes the science girls; I am reliably informed that the Vitiman B group helps the central nervous system to run more smoothly and vitimin C can also help you reduce your stress levels.

You are too busy? Start to plan ahead. Try doing one big shop, plan your meals for the week and buy your entire weeks grocerys there and then. This will mean that you avoid the temptations of snack eating junk and save some money.

Try to avoid the chocolate, crisps and coffee. The burst of energy they provide is short lived and the draining negative effects can last far longer.

De stress diets should work around you, and your habits. If you like to snack around the clock that is fine, healthy snacks can help you pack in the vitimins you need to get you through the day.

Over the forth coming months I will add more top tips. If you have any of your own we would love to share these with you.

Welcome to all of our visitors

Congratulations, the chances are if you are reading this your beloved has popped the question!

If you are anything like me, after the initial spell of excitement, several glasses of champagne later you will have realised that you have the wedding of your dreams to plan.

So much to do, so little time to do it. Wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses, flowers, wedding venues, wedding cakes .... the list goes on. We can help you find the people to make your wedding ideas a reality.

Your marriage will be unique and you are likely to want this to be reflected in your celebrations. We understand this. Civil ceremonies are increasingly becoming a popular choice. There are thousands of places to hold your wedding,
on a lakeside, in a fairytale castle, for those more daring, perhaps even a hot air balloon. But, make sure you get the relevant legalities checked in plenty of time before the big day.

The choices are endless but once you find the right people for you the process should become a whole lot easier.

This is where we come in. Ab Fab Weddings are building a directory that I hope will meet your requirements. Having only just planned my wedding last year I know there is no such thing as the 'traditional wedding' just 'your wedding'.

We will interact with our visitors regularly through our blog and welcome your comments and suggestions on exactly what you are looking for from an all encompassing wedding site. If you want to share any of your wedding planning stories we would love to hear from you.

At the moment behind the scenes we are compiling a catelogue of practical tips and searching the UK to find the wedding specialists who can work with you to make your wedding day absolutely fabulous!
